supermoon over our neighborhood at 4:30 am, December 14, 2016
If you happened to wake up in the wee hours this morning, you might have noticed bright moonshine through your window. Despite the heavy cloud cover, the moon shone mightily. We don’t often get to see the full glory of God’s moon, but we sure did this morning.
This was a rare chance to see a supermoon, the time when the new moon coincides with the its closest position to the earth in many years. We won’t see another supermoon like this until November 25th, 2034.
